The sisters were both borns with severe cases of Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, a neuromuscular disease causing decreased flexibility of the joints. Their disease prevents the girls from being able to speak, eat breath and move freely by oneself. Because of their disabilities the family is visited by a series of nurses and physical therapist’s throughout the day.
This situation is nothing new to Chaney who was nine when her sister Jasmine, who was also diagnosed with Arthrogryposis, was adopted. Jasmine inspired Chaney to adopt Mary and Kiera from the Florida Foster Care program. “I’ve always wanted to adopt beecause my sister was adopted” says Chaney.
